When Search Engine Start to Send Organic Traffic
When I launch an affiliate campaign I am trying to look ahead. One of the things that I’ve learned during the years is to develop my own website rather to use direct linking.
I do use direct link in rare occasions, mostly for seasonal products. But even for seasonal campaign eventually I do develop a website for it.
Few days ago Yahoo started to send organic traffic for one of my niche affiliate website. I launched this website only 4 months ago. For now it is not a heavy traffic, approximately 70 users a day. The thing is that I am getting a free traffic for one of the keywords that convert very well. So the outcome is simple, I double the profit margin because with PPC I had close to 100% ROI now I don’t have to pay for it and…. I am getting more traffic for this keyword because people tend to click on the organic search results much more than on the PPC ads.
I know some affiliate marketers that doing only PPC and not doing any SEO. They don’t like the idea of been ranked high on the first page of the search engine results without the confidence to know if their website will be still be their tomorrow.
It’s true; your website ranking can be changed without a notice. However I found that if you do SEO, less chance that you will get a slap with your PPC campaign.
A tip: If you would like to keep your ranking high on the search engines result page give your users a reason to mention your website elsewhere on the web. As long as the number of backlinks to your website consistently increase a good chance that you will not loose you’re ranking even if they do not use the right keywords as the anchor text.
